Maud was drawn to the piano from the first time she saw one and started playing at the age of seven. She started her career with private lessons and was accepted to the Annecy Conservatory in France at the age of nine, achieving diplomas in piano, accompaniment, theory, chamber music, music analysis and musical criticism. For some subjects she studied at the Lyon Conservatory in France.
After her classical studies Maud joined the Orion theatre company based in Rennes, France, where she played the piano for theatre, dance, and street festivals. She continued her musical education while playing in Rennes by studying jazz in the Paris Conservatory of Cachan part time. Returning to the Haute Savoie, Maud started teaching while continuing to learn while following private lessons under Adilia Alieva and played with her together with musicians such as Bernard Lubat and the Annesci Quartet.
Maud has been teaching students in her own classes since 2001. She also taught in music schools at Domancy and La Clusaz in France. Her extensive experience allows Maud to teach with vision and purpose. The core of all her lessons are a love of music and its language. Music is a way to tell stories, invoke images and emotions. Musical theory is a means to bring our sonic world to life, so is not taught as an abstract discipline but a way to master the piano and understand musical language. Practical lessons and techniques are taught from the first lesson. Musicians are meant to be heard, so twice a year Maud organises a concert for all her students to practice playing in public and for family and friends to enjoy their progress.
